Avraham Avinu is a Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) folksong that retells legends about the birth of Abraham:

"When King Nimrod went into the fields
He looked to the sky and to the stars.
He saw a holy light in the Jewish quarter,
A sign that Abraham our father would be born."

The dramatic If I Forget Thee, O Jerusalem was written for the Jerusalem Lyric Trio by Dina Smorganski. The text includes the most famous verses in the Bible about the longing of the Jewish people for Jerusalem:

"If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill. Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth if I remember thee not; if I set not Jerusalem above my greatest joy." (Ps. 137:5-6)

One of Max Stern's "Three Ancient Pieces" for flute and piano, the Shepherd Song is based on a traditional Yemenite melody.

Dance #6 from Six Israeli Dances by Haim Alexander for piano solo. This work was written in the spirit of folk dances but is not based on traditional folk tunes.

Two Israeli Songs based on texts from the Song of Songs, arranged by Menachem Weisenberg:

"Dodi Li" (My beloved is mine and I am his) by N. Chen
"Ana Halakh Dodech" (Where has thy beloved gone?) by Gil Aldema (beginning).
